Features: The prevalence and profound impact of scholars' itinerant activities were a notable phenomenon in the history of the Qing Dynasty. In the book Scholars' Itinerant Activities and Qing Academic Development, the author discussed this topic. However, further research on the itinerant activities of Qing scholars remains highly necessary due to the following two reasons.
First, in terms of the research subject, Scholars' Itinerant Activities and Qing Academic Development primarily focused on the itinerant activities of "scholars" in the Qing Dynasty who held certain status and influence. The itinerant activities of ordinary "scholars" with relatively lower status and influence were largely excluded from the discussion.
Second, regarding the research content, Scholars' Itinerant Activities and Qing Academic Development mainly explored the intrinsic connections between scholars' itinerant activities and their academic pursuits, thereby investigating the reasons for the flourishing of Qing academic development. As a result, some issues in scholars' itinerant activities that were not directly related to this theme were not included in the discussion, or if mentioned, they were only briefly addressed.
In terms of the time span, this research covers the entire Qing Dynasty, spanning 258 years, which is a long period. During this time, the political and social environments of the Qing Dynasty underwent continuous changes, and many aspects of scholars' itinerant activities had to adapt accordingly. Therefore, when conducting this research, it is essential to consider the potential variations in scholars' itinerant activities across different periods.
To achieve this, quantitative analysis must be divided into several periods. This approach ensures that the itinerant activities of scholars in each period receive adequate attention, and by analyzing the itinerant activities across these periods, a comprehensive conclusion about scholars' itinerant activities throughout the Qing Dynasty can be drawn.
