Wild Swans -- Andersen's Fairy Tale Picture Book Collection

Author: (Dan) Hans Christian Andersen, translated by Ji Ying, illustrated by (English) Watts Wen

Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: Hans Christian Andersen was actually such a writer—he skillfully told adults stories wearing a childlike mask, while using fairy tales to share the experiences that belonged entirely to the adult world with children. Hans Christian Andersen is worth reading throughout our lives; the great writer Leo Tolstoy spent ten years reading his works. Hans Christian Andersen is worth experiencing and appreciating for generations to come, as the essayist Zhang Xiaofeng said: If someone hasn’t listened to Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 5, their childhood lacks a touch of warmth; if someone hasn’t read Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 15, their youth lacks a sparkle of silver; if someone hasn’t savored Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 25, their young adulthood lacks a vibrant hue; if someone hasn’t understood Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 35, their prime years lack a sense of abundance; if someone hasn’t reflected on Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 45, their middle age lacks a touch of melancholy; if someone hasn’t revisited Hans Christian Andersen by the age of 55, their later years lack a sense of depth. Now, as the footsteps of the global "Commemoration of Hans Christian Andersen’s 200th Birthday" and the collection of international illustrators' works for "The Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tale Picture Book Collection (13 volumes)" draw near, we believe this exquisite gift, specially curated to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen’s birth, will become a precious collection that allows everyone to cherish and relive beautiful childhood memories.
