It is well-known that Genghis Khan, with the Mongol cavalry, swept across Eurasia and established the Mongol Empire. However, how to govern and manage a culturally advanced and economically developed region was a question Genghis Khan couldn't answer in time. Kublai Khan basically resolved this issue. With the help of a group of Mongol and Han officials, he established the era name and reformed the system according to Han law. The series of political, economic, military, and cultural policies he formulated and implemented not only laid the foundation for the hundred-year reign of the Yuan Dynasty but also provided the Qing Dynasty rulers with extremely valuable experience. As the author of this book states: Genghis Khan shook the world with his military conquests, while Kublai Khan was renowned for his governance and cultural achievements.
