Features: Teaching reform is a hot topic today. As the foundation disciplines of higher education, humanities and social sciences are faced with the significant task of how to promote the humanistic spirit of the Chinese nation and enhance the humanistic qualities of college students. Under the advocacy of the Central Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Education, domestic sister institutions have conducted many valuable explorations in teaching reform in humanities and social sciences, achieving encouraging results that are worth learning from. It is inspiring that our short course teaching reform has been widely recognized and welcomed by students, which undoubtedly greatly boosts our confidence in further combining teaching and research in short course reform. Therefore, we have decided to select a batch of short courses from these 200 courses that are both academically innovative and suitable for cultivating compound talents in higher education. We will refine and elevate them, publishing them under the name of the "Innovative Series of Humanistic Education Reform." We believe that this series, with its short, concise, and innovative features, will, to some extent, set a precedent for teaching reform in humanities and social sciences across China's higher education institutions.
