Publishing Date: 2004-07-01
Features: The purpose of compiling this selection is to provide literary enthusiasts with a new anthology of poetry from the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties periods. This anthology is neither too large nor too small, aiming to include as many representative works of renowned writers from this period as possible, allowing readers to gain a general understanding of the poetic landscape of the time. Additionally, it seeks to illustrate the historical significance of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties poetry and its preparatory role for the prosperity of Tang Dynasty poetry. For the sake of accessibility, some overly difficult poems and works with unhealthy ideological tendencies have been excluded. At the same time, to facilitate readers' comprehension of the meaning, we have provided concise annotations and comments. In terms of annotations, we have taken into account the needs of readers and generally avoided citing the original words of predecessors to ensure clarity. In terms of comments, we have referred to the opinions of many predecessors.
