Features: Yu Ying-shih, born in Qianshan, Anhui, in 1930, in Tianjin. He studied at the New Asia College and the New Asia Institute of Research from 1950 to 1955, under the tutelage of Mr. Qian Mu. From 1956 to 1961, he studied at Harvard University, under the guidance of Mr. Yang Lian, and obtained his Ph.D. He has served as a professor at the University of Michigan, Harvard University, and Yale University, as well as the president of the New Asia College and the vice president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and as a visiting professor at Princeton University. He currently resides in the United States.
