Features: Shi Zhecun, a renowned modern Chinese novelist, intentionally employed Freudian psychoanalytic theory in his works such as Jiumoluoshi (Buddha of the Eastern Paradise), Jiangjun Di Tou (The Head of a General), and Meiyu Zhi Xi (Evening in the Rain), which were classified as part of the Xingshen Pai (Sensory School) fiction. He was also prolific in prose writing, translation, and after the liberation, dedicated himself to the study of classical Chinese literature, cultural relics, archaeology, and the introduction of foreign literature. This book is in the form of a diary, primarily documenting Shi Zhecun's leisurely diaries and Zhaosu diaries. Mr. Shi Zhecun was conscious and proactive in exploring the art of diary writing, and he was ahead of his time in society. In the 1930s, Mr. Shi founded the Modern magazine, introducing modernist trends and advocating literary creation with modern consciousness, becoming one of the key figures of the Xingshen Pai. His diaries focus on psychoanalysis, emphasizing the depiction of characters' stream of consciousness, which was highly avant-garde at the time. However, the literary research community long overlooked him, only beginning to reassess his work in the 1980s with the influx of modernist thought.
