Features: This book is divided into two parts. In the first part, Yang Jiang, with her characteristic wisdom and unique writing style, narrates the emotional experiences of a family of three relying on each other in the last few years through the form of dreams. The second part records, in simple yet touching words, the little-known hardships of this family from 1935, when the couple studied abroad in the UK and gave birth to their daughter in Oxford, to 1998, the year Mr. Qian passed away, spanning 63 years. Their journey spans half the globe and crosses over half a century marked by war, illness, political storms, and partings—no matter how fierce the storms, they supported each other, and the beautiful family became a safe haven for Yang Jiang and her family. Heaven and earth, life and death—though separated, their deep affection cannot be severed. Yang Jiang, accompanied by the quiet glow of a lamp, silently pours out her heart to her loved ones on the other side. As a traditional intellectual, her words are restrained yet expressive, with the indescribable tenderness and sorrow permeating every line, moving every reader deeply. The meaning of life does not change with the rise and fall of the body; the warm family bonds, rooted in the stability above the impermanence of worldly affairs, have forever united them. The significance of home is fully explored in the author's book.
