Features: Collecting jazz records is very expensive and time-consuming. First, a moderately famous musician has at least 40 or 50 albums in a lifetime, while major artists have over 100 albums. If you love someone and want to collect all their works, it can be quite a challenge. Second, just like classical music, a jazz piece can appear in many albums depending on the venue, performance time, and the musicians involved. Determining which version is the best can be overwhelming for new jazz listeners. Moreover, many famous jazz pieces have been performed by countless musicians since their inception, even those originally composed for piano being played on a trumpet. Pop and rock music emphasize "original artist and original vocals," which doesn't apply to jazz at all. Additionally, with a century-long history, jazz is vast and filled with legendary albums, its development closely tied to the history of the record industry. In this regard, its quantity is no less than classical music and far exceeds pop music. The goal of this book is to select at least 300 works that deserve the title of "essential" from this vast jazz library to recommend to everyone. The difficulty is undeniable, and in selecting specific albums, I made at least three attempts, but in the end, I will inevitably miss some. Please forgive this oversight.
