Selected Poems of Peter Hoerni

Author: Peter Houn
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-05-01
Features: Looking back at the publication of foreign poetry in China during the 20th century, we can clearly see that the translation of poems has always been in a scattered and non-systematic state. We are publishing this series, "20th Century World Poetry Translation Collection," precisely to change this situation. We hope to contribute our modest efforts to fill a gap in China's publishing industry, thereby constructing a long corridor of the 20th-century world poetry history in Chinese, providing a complete picture of 20th-century poetry. This translation series is planned to include fifty volumes, divided into five collections, with ten volumes per collection. This book collects representative works from different periods of Peter Houn's creative journey, including series of recited poems such as "The Lament for Plumshead" and "Chapters of Civil War," which stirred strong responses in the South African civil rights movement. In the "Interview" included with this book, the author elaborates on his thoughts, reflections, and artistic pursuits. Additionally, the World Poetry Translation Collection features outstanding works by renowned poets from around the world, many of whom have won the Nobel Prize in Literature or other prestigious poetry awards.
