Research on Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang Cultures (Issue 1)

Author: Huang Liuzhu et al.
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2002-10-01
Features: Journal of Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang Culture, composed of three major sections: Academic Research, Academic Reviews, and Academic News. The "Research" section is dedicated to publishing new achievements in Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang culture—primarily in the fields of history, archaeology, and literature. The "Reviews" section is a column that summarizes the state of Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang cultural studies in the year preceding the journal's publication.
A scholarly journal that combines "Research," "Reviews," and "News" in this way seems relatively rare at present. We hope that this combination, at least in form, reflects certain distinctive features. Although this journal is titled Journal of Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang Culture, the topics covered are not limited to these dynasties but instead encompass the long historical period of ancient China from the pre-Qin to the Tang and Song dynasties. Matters concerning the Song dynasty and later are excluded from this journal's scope, as they are somewhat distant from the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang eras. Of course, for certain topics requiring a comprehensive examination, this limitation may not apply.
In summary, this journal focuses primarily on Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang culture, broadly covering the first half of ancient Chinese society with some extension into later periods.
