Features: The former residence of Liang Qichao and the Yinbing Studio are located in the original Italian concession, with architectural styles reminiscent of Italy. When it comes to the concession, we must also discuss the history of Tianjin. In the second year of the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, Tianjin was established as a garrison and city, nearly six hundred years ago. Tianjin serves as the gateway to the capital and is close to the Haihe River, making it a hub for north-south transportation. After Tianjin was opened as a port in 1860, the UK, France, and the United States first established a concession on the west bank of the Haihe River in the Zilin Village. After the Boxer Rebellion in 1900, nine countries established concessions in Tianjin, covering an area eight times that of the old city. Designers from various countries built a variety of small villas in styles typical of their home countries, creating a landscape reminiscent of an international architectural exhibition. Due to the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, the coexistence of Chinese and foreign communities, as well as Tianjin's geographical location and historical development, five major cultural streams have formed: the Grand Canal culture, the port culture, the old city culture, the salt merchant culture, and the concession culture. Urban culture is the accumulation and precipitation of historical culture, while architectural heritage serves as its carrier. A city must have its own characteristics, and its charm lies in culture, which is also its most fundamental expression. Tianjin's architectural heritage holds extremely high historical, cultural, and tourism value, serving as a microcosm of the city's historical evolution and cultural accumulation.
