World Chinese Micro-fiction -- Biennial Selection (2000-2001)

Author: Editorial Board of "Selected Miniature Novels in Chinese Worldwide: Biennial Edition"
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-04-01
Features: This book includes dozens of miniature novels from 2000 and 2001 worldwide. Examples include Fan Fu's "Awakening the Hero," Wei Ping's "Seeking Alms," Wang Meng's "Fishy Deception," Zhang Kankang's "Gas Leak," and more. The works collected are rich in content, concise in writing, short in length, and highly readable, leaving readers with a sense of wanting more. As a biennial selection, all the works included were published in Chinese-language publications both domestically and internationally during these two years. There is no unified standard for defining the word count of a miniature novel. While some selected works exceed 1,500 words, we firmly believe that the ideal word count for a miniature novel should not exceed 1,500 words. Of course, word count is not the only criterion for evaluating a miniature novel. Its composition, content, and other characteristics must also be considered.
