Features: Comrade Jin Qiu was originally a dancer, which was a good condition for studying dance. As agraduate of Japanese language and literature, she entered the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Arts after obtaining a master's degree and resolutely pursued a doctorate. She tirelessly pursued knowledge, new discoveries, and new breakthroughs. To write a new academic work, she conducted research along the desolate Silk Road; then paid homage to the Mogao and Yulin caves; and also traveled far across the ocean to study Japanese dance. While teaching at the Department of Arts, Beijing Normal University, she completed her studies and even took additional courses in archaeology. She spent her days exploring the vast seas of books from ancient and modern China and abroad, eagerly seeking knowledge from scholars and experts. Finally, she completed her new academic work, The History of Musical and Dance Cultural Exchange on the Ancient Silk Road. Holding this heavy book in my hands, my heart surged with emotion, and I was deeply moved. Scholars from all over the world have written extensively on the Silk Road, but those who study the musical and dance culture of the Silk Road are rare. This book fills a gap in academic research and can also be said to opens a new field of study in musical and dance research—it is innovative work. Of course, without accumulation and the "hard work" of the previous stages, innovation cannot be achieved. This is something I and Jin Qiu will always remember, because the study of musical and dance culture is a long and arduous journey.
