Features: This work, titled "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils," tells the story of the Dali Kingdom in Yunnan during the Northern Song Dynasty. The Dali Kingdom was a Buddhist nation, where emperors often revered Buddhism and gave up their thrones to become monks, a very unique phenomenon in Chinese history. The eight types of supernatural beings in "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" each have unique personalities and powers. Though they are beings beyond the human world, they also experience worldly joys and sorrows. In this work, there are no supernatural beings; instead, the title "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" is borrowed from Buddhist scriptures to symbolize the various personalities and destinies of some real-world characters.
