Features: China is one of the ancient civilizations of the world. Many of the splendid civilizations of the ancient world were unable to continue, someed, and others shifted with the transfer of cultural centers to other regions. Only China, a country both ancient and young, has maintained its continuity. From primitive society to the formation of a state, it has a history of over 5,000 years with written records. China and its culture stand tall in the world, unbroken and ever-renewing through history. It is generally believed that Buddhism began to spread to China in the late Western Han Dynasty. The routes of transmission largely corresponded to the Silk Road, entering through Central Asia to Xinjiang, China, and then further into the interior. Later, Buddhism spread to Guangzhou, China, via Sri Lanka, Java, the Malay Peninsula, and Vietnam, this being the sea route.
