Publishing Date: Not available
Features: This book is relatively short but rich in content and written in fluent literature. The author, a graduate of the Hanlin Academy, served as an imperial official for over ten years and was appointed as an academic inspector multiple times. In his later years, he held several high-ranking regional positions, making him well-versed in political anecdotes, imperial examinations, and administrative duties. The descriptions in the book are particularly detailed, while also covering aspects such as civil affairs, finance, anecdotes of scholars, local customs, mountains, rivers, and geographical changes. As a result, it holds significant reference value for research on mid-Qing politics, economy, military, culture, and social life. The book is not widely circulated. According to the annotator, only one edition—printed by the Zhejiang Official Paper Bureau during the Republic of China—exists. This edition has been used for the current annotations. The book is a single volume, divided into two parts (upper and lower volumes), with twelve lines per half-page and thirty-two characters per line, without prefaces or postfaces. A supplementary article titled "Brief Biography of Wuling Zhao Wenke Gong" is appended, which has also been included and annotated.
