Features: Wu Chuhou, a former official of Hanyang Army, compiled "A Record of the Past" (Beiming Zosanyan), "The West Yang Collection" (Youyang Qinzuj), "Idle Talks in the Jade Hall" (Yutang Xianhua), and "Idle Talks in the Military Camp" (Rongmu Xiandan). There are many such works, and in modern times, there are also "Idle Flowers" (Xianhua), "Idle Records" (Xianlu), and "Retirement Records" (Guitianlu), all of which gather events of the time, primarily to enrich historical records and serve as references. I have never stopped reading since I began my official career and also enjoy visiting places, so my knowledge and experiences have grown over time. Moreover, I often judge and appreciate events, recording them as warnings and lessons. However, the records are disorganized and unordered, titled "Records of the Green Box" (Qingxiang Baojij), totaling ten volumes. On the first day of the first month of spring in the second year of the Yuanyou era, I solemnly wrote this preface. [1] [1] This preface is only found in the manuscript collection of the Beijing Library. The "Catalog of Books in Aidi Jingfang" (Volume 27) records the full text of this preface. It is supplemented here based on the manuscript.
