Features: At the age of over twenty, Qi Gong began to study under Li Yun, learning about academic schools and textual research, understanding that "without evidence, no belief" is the foundation of conduct and writing. At that time, he had a private passion for calligraphy and painting, often drawing inspiration from ancient works. One day, when Li Yun asked about his interests, he replied that he aspired to achieve something in the field of art. The teacher then encouraged him with a witty remark: "I initially studied medicine, and in the future, I will also be a transmitter of medical skills." Later, he taught at middle schools and universities, his scope gradually expanding, and he also indulged in poetry and prose, having written "Draft on the Theory of Ancient Characters." When the book was completed, his mentor still had the opportunity to review it. After painstakingly writing "Draft on the Theory of Poetic Rhythm," it took ten years to finish, but his mentor was no longer able to see it. In the early 1980s, the elderly friend Fu Xuancong of Zhonghua Book Company asked me to compile a collection of my scattered old manuscripts into a book. Fortunately, I had a label from years ago with my mentor's inscription "Qi Gong's Collected Works," which I used as the title. Mr. Fu urged for quick printing, and the publishing department term for this is "pulling numbers," and within a few days, the printing was completed. This is the second volume of my humble manuscripts.
