Features: This book collects all of Mr. Pu Jiangqing's diaries from 1928 to 1949, preserving them in their original form without any editing or alterations. It not only offers a genuine record of the life, emotions, teaching, and research of a modern scholar but also provides glimpses of the words, deeds, and spirits of scholars such as Chen Yinke, Wu Mi, Qian Mu, Zhu Ziqing, and Feng Youlan. It holds significant historical value for understanding or researching the history of modern Chinese education, particularly the campus culture of Tsinghua University and Southwest Associated University. Among them, the "Diary of the Westward Journey" recounts the arduous experiences of a frail scholar who, undeterred by obstacles and indifferent to personal danger, traveled thousands of miles from Shanghai to Kunming to take up a teaching position at Southwest Associated University. It showcases the inspiring spirit of modern intellectuals—resilient, determined, and patriotic.
