Features: This "Study Guide" helps you understand and absorb Stiglitz's "Economics" (Second Edition) and facilitates the use of related materials. The chapters in this book correspond to those in the textbook, and each chapter is divided into three parts. Part 1 includes a chapter review, key concepts, and the meaning of key concepts. The chapter review succinctly explains the structure of the chapter within Stiglitz's overall theoretical framework. Key concepts summarize the main points of the chapter. The meaning of key concepts provides suggestions to avoid common mistakes, guidance and explanations for difficult problems, and also highlights similarities between related concepts and the shared framework of economic theory and concepts. Part 2 consists of self-assessment questions, including true/false, multiple-choice, and fill-in-the-blank questions. After studying the textbook and reading Part 1 of the "Study Guide," you can take the self-assessment questions. This will help you determine where further study is needed. Part 3 is "Economics in Practice: Tools and Exercises." This section teaches you the basic skills of economics. The only way to complete this section is to sharpen your pencils and do the exercises. If you are willing to do so (or if this is assigned by your teacher), you will find these exercises very helpful. Each type of question comes with a toolkit, providing step-by-step guidance on how to use the corresponding tools and how to solve real-world problems step by step. It also provides practice exercises. Answers to the exercises are provided at the end of each chapter.
