This generation's business

Author: Dong Qiao
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1996-02-01
Features: The book is divided into three volumes: "Thought" does not rely on any sect, only writing "scattered ink"; "China" seems real yet illusory, and speaks of "sentiment"; "Culture" is the key point, and it is even more disdainful to make arbitrary judgments, so it is simply "marginal notes" instead. Prose must learn, recognize, and feel, combining them to achieve what Alfred North Whitehead called "profound as the realm of philosophy, sublime as the realm of art." In recent years, I have pursued such attainments, knowing the difficulties but not giving up, and thus completed "This Generation's Affairs."
