Features: "Fundamentals of Applied Mathematics in Economics" is a trial teaching material for higher financial and economic colleges, commissioned by the Ministry of Education. The entire book is divided into five volumes. "Introduction to Operations Research" is the fifth volume of this series. The new edition adds some simpler proofs when discussing the main branches of operations research. On the one hand, it helps to clarify the principles; on the other hand, it enhances students' ability to use mathematics for creative problem-solving through operations research teaching. Some chapters have been strengthened, such as game theory and nonlinear programming. The addition of game theory content is to meet the current needs in the fields of economics, management, and finance, where economic game theory is increasingly used to study real-world problems. The strengthening of certain theoretical aspects in nonlinear programming (especially the Kuhn-Tucker theorem) is because these theories serve as the foundation for discussions in fields such as microeconomics, mathematical economics, and quantitative economics. At the same time, a new chapter has been added to cover the emerging field of data envelopment analysis (DEA) in operations research. Certain chapters have also been removed, such as the chapter on "Quality Management." Additionally, a new chapter on "Linear Programming" has been included, providing an introduction to linear programming (the book "Linear Programming" by Hu Fuchang has been published as an independent volume as part of "Fundamentals of Applied Mathematics in Economics"). The addition of this chapter is because subsequent chapters in the book (such as nonlinear programming, multi-objective programming, integer programming, game theory, and data envelopment analysis) require certain concepts from linear programming.
