Features: Since the late 1990s, with the frequent exchanges and development of Chinese art, various forms of modern polychrome painting have reversely influenced the Chinese art scene. Since 1998, the Institute of Art and Technology of the Ministry of Culture has continuously held multiple sessions of the "Advanced Research Institute of Modern Polychrome (Rock) Painting." Universities and institutions such as the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and the Department of Fine Arts at Xiamen University have successively offered undergraduate, master's, and advanced courses in modern polychrome painting. These teaching and creative activities, primarily led by a new generation of Chinese artists who studied abroad, have promoted China's revival of polychrome painting. Starting with the 1998 National Industrial Painting Exhibition, works in the style of modern polychrome painting began to appear in large numbers. In April and August 2001, the "First China Polychrome Painting Exhibition" and the "First China Rock Painting Exhibition" marked a new phase in the revival and exploration of polychrome painting in China. The vigorous rise of modern polychrome painting will play an increasingly significant role in opening up innovative paths for national painting, enhancing the expressive power of local art, and adapting to the development of the global information society.
