Features: Forensic linguistics is an emerging language discipline that has developed in the context of increasingly close relationships among nations and ethnic groups. It is a field with strong vitality. Language often plays a pivotal role in business negotiations and legal proceedings. We often say "equality before the law," but if language cannot communicate, equality is difficult to maintain. I sincerely hope that the editors can digest and integrate some of the latest developments in forensic linguistics into this textbook, refining it into a more practical, advanced, and scientific teaching material. This is the second volume, which consists of 20 units, each containing two legal English texts. TEXT I systematically introduces the basic knowledge of British law, covering constitutional law, civil and commercial law, criminal law, administrative law, and procedural law. To broaden students' understanding of legal knowledge, TEXT II is a fast-reading article sourced from American law, British law, and the laws of other countries. In addition to consolidating the learning from TEXT I, it also lays the foundation for studying the second and third volumes.
