Features: Zhang Pengchuan is a specialist in art archaeology, combining the expertise of an artist and an archaeologist. Mr. Zhang Daoyi has made a pertinent evaluation of his archaeological research: "Mr. Zhang Pengchuan, who studied art in his early years and later turned to archaeology—or perhaps he wandered between the two disciplines—naturally possesses the strengths of both. In studying Chinese history, how to enrich the research of art history with precious artifacts discovered through archaeology, and then to explain the problems encountered in art history using archaeology, he has gained rich experience." He has conducted in-depth studies on topics such as primitive art, Han and Jin murals, ceramic art, and the origins of Chinese calligraphy and painting styles, and has offered unique insights into the research of art archaeology, art history, and design art.
