Features: The dramatic changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe were a massive political earthquake in world history. They not only collapsed the regimes of these countries but also shook people's hearts. A series of sharp political issues emerged before the public, and one after another practical problems demanded answers. In the 10 years following the changes, what kind of storms and winds did the political landscape of these countries experience? This was a matter of close attention. The book focuses on Russia, the successor to the Soviet Union. Since March 2000, when Putin came to power, the political situation in the country has become increasingly stable, and the economy has started to recover. Although it has not yet fully emerged from its difficulties, it remains the birthplace of the October Socialist Revolution. Whether in the present or the future, it is still a major power in Europe, a country with economic and military potential. As for Eastern Europe, this was a political concept during the Cold War, referring to the eight countries that formed the "Eastern Bloc" alongside the Soviet Union after World War II. After the changes in 1989, East Germany merged into West Germany, and the remaining seven countries split: Czechoslovakia into two, and Yugoslavia into five. Therefore, the Eastern European countries discussed in this book refer to the 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans after the Cold War, namely Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, the Yugoslav Federation, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. This book examines the changes in the party political organizations of these 13 countries, generally covering the period from the late 1980s to the end of the 20th century, i.e., the political storms in these countries in the nearly 10 years after the changes.
