Features: Life is more important than origin
Days pass like the wind, and as we grow older and mature, we gradually realize many truths and cares that we had never noticed before. Of course, this requires us to discover and experience life, because life is more important than anything else.
Since George could remember, his father had been walking with a limp. He looked ordinary, with nothing outstanding about him. So, he often wondered, how could his mother have married such a person?
One time, a middle school basketball tournament was held in the city, and George was the team's star player. He found his mother and said, "I hope you can go with me." His mother smiled and said, "Of course. Even if you didn’t ask, your father and I would go anyway." He shook his head and said, "I’m not talking about my father—I just want you to go." His mother was surprised and asked, "Why is that?" He forced a smile and said, "I always thought that a disabled person standing on the sidelines would spoil the atmosphere." His mother sighed softly and said, "You’re upset with your father?" At that moment, his father walked over and said, "I’ve got to go on a business trip these days. You can handle things yourselves."
The game ended quickly, and George’s team won the championship. On the way home, his mother was very happy and said, "If your father knew the news, he would surely sing at the top of his lungs." George said angrily, "Mom, let’s not mention him right now, okay?" His mother couldn’t accept his resentment and said loudly, "You have to tell me why?"
George smiled and said, "There’s no reason, I just don’t want to mention him right now." His mother’s expression grew serious and said, "Child, there’s something I didn’t want to say, but if I keep hiding it, it might hurt your father. Do you know how your father lost his leg?" George shook his head and said, "I don’t know." His mother said, "When you were two years old, your father took you to the garden to play. On the way home, you ran around everywhere. Suddenly, a car sped by, and to save you, your father’s left leg was crushed under the wheel." George froze and said, "How is that possible?" His mother said, "It’s not impossible. Your father just didn’t let me tell you these years."
The two walked slowly. His mother said, "There’s something you might not know—your father is, your favorite author." George jumped up in shock and said, "What are you talking about? I don’t believe it!" His mother said, "Your father didn’t let me tell you this either. If you don’t believe it, you can ask your teacher." George rushed to school. His teacher smiled and said, "It’s all true. Your father didn’t want us to reveal this because he was afraid it would affect your growth. But since you know now, I might as well tell you—your father is a great person."
A few days later, his father returned. George asked seriously, "Are you the famous?" His father paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "I am, the writer." George took out a book and said, "Then please sign it for me!" His father looked at him for a moment, then...
