Features: Since the 1980s, scholars have conducted a serious summary and profound reflection on the paradigms that have long dominated the study of modern Chinese history. They have corrected certain simplistic and dogmatic understandings of the past, produced a large number of eye-opening academic achievements, and gradually formed a new set of academic norms and discourse systems. While fully acknowledging the significant achievements in the study of modern Chinese history, it is also necessary to recognize that there are still some issues worthy of attention in this field. The scope of research still needs to be further expanded, research methods need to be further enriched, and research paradigms need to be further updated. To this end, this journal has invited several scholars who have long been dedicated to the field of modern Chinese history to discuss the theme of "Paradigm Shift in the Study of Modern Chinese History," expressing their views freely and openly. It is hoped that this discussion will contribute to advancing the development of modern Chinese history studies.
