Features: "Pharmaceutical Basics" was compiled in accordance with the spirit of the editor's meeting of the second batch of health department's planned teaching materials for secondary vocational education, following the teaching plans and syllabi for medical and health professional secondary vocational schools issued by the health department in 2001. The book is structured for 63 teaching hours and divided into 18 chapters. In terms of content selection and adjustment, it incorporates the characteristics of health care and other professions, as well as actual clinical medication practices, by removing some drugs listed in the teaching syllabus that were not included in the 2000 edition of the "People's Republic of China Pharmacopoeia" or the "National Essential Medicines," or were rarely used or no longer in use. It also adds some commonly used drugs that were not covered in the syllabus, such as lipid-regulating drugs, acid-base balance regulators, immunoprophylactic preparations, and drugs like dichlorphenac and povidone-iodine. In line with professional characteristics and training objectives, the book emphasizes drug actions, clinical applications, adverse reactions, and prevention and treatment, supplemented by common formulations and dosages and usage. The practical guide introduces general drug knowledge as well as general prescription knowledge. The experimental section primarily selects 21 classic and representative animal experiments, fully covering the content specified in the syllabus. The drugs included in this textbook, along with their Chinese and English names, formulations, and dosages, are based on the "People's Republic of China Pharmacopoeia" (2000 edition), while also referencing the "National Essential Medicines" (1998 edition) and the "New Pharmaceutical Science" (14th edition). It incorporates the achievements of the "Pharmacology" (5th edition) and "Pharmaceuticals" textbooks for higher medical colleges nationwide.
