Features: This textbook was compiled based on the "Teaching Plan and Syllabus for Medical and Health Professions in Secondary Vocational Schools" formulated by the Health Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee in 2001. In the compilation process, efforts were made to embody the "Five Qualities" (ideological, scientific, advanced, inspirational, and applicable) and emphasize the "Three Basics" (basic theories, fundamental knowledge, and basic skills), avoiding excessive, overly difficult, or overly profound theoretical knowledge. To facilitate teaching, significant adjustments were made to the arrangement of content in some chapters. "Colloidal Solutions" were placed in "Chapter 2: Solutions"; "Molecular Structure," "Atomic Structure," and "Periodic Law of Elements" were combined into "Chapter 3: Matter Structure and Periodic Law of Elements"; "Reaction Heat" was placed in "Chapter 5: Reaction Rate and Chemical Equilibrium"; "Buffer Solutions" were placed in "Chapter 7: Electrolyte Solutions"; and "Main Group Elements" and "Transition Elements" were combined into "Chapter 8: Important Elements and Their Compounds." The adjusted hourly allocation for each chapter in this textbook is provided in Appendix Five at the back of the book. Each chapter includes "Extra-Curricular Reading" to cultivate students' interest in learning and broaden their horizons. Sufficient exercises are provided at the end of each chapter for students to practice and self-assess during or after class.
