Features: This book is compiled by Professor Lin Qianliang, a renowned expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and a professor at Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The author felt that the mainstay of TCM treatment—pharmacotherapy—was difficult to promote globally, with one of the key reasons being the complexity of prescriptions. First, the theory behind prescriptions is hard to master, and second, the excessive number of herbs in formulas makes them less acceptable to people. After dedicated research and thorough organization of ancient and modern literature, the author selected 526 "simple, easy, and effective" prescriptions, 263 herb pairs, and the syndrome differentiation and treatment for 100 diseases across 11 categories. Combining his research insights and clinical experience, he proposed a prescription system that is both simple, easy, and effective, which is presented in this book. It aims to guide beginners and foreigners in learning TCM formulas and to help them quickly get started with prescribing. The book is divided into four volumes: General Theory, Herb Pairs, Formulas, and Clinical Applications. The General Theory explains the theory of prescriptions; the Herb Pairs and Formulas are strictly selected based on the "simple, easy, and effective" principle, with all formulas consisting of 1 to 5 herbs, no more than 5. The Clinical Applications, guided by theory, discusses the syndrome differentiation and treatment for 100 diseases. From theory to formulas to clinical applications, the book forms a self-contained system that is simple, effective, and practical. It is not only suitable for beginners and foreigners but also holds high reference value for TCM clinical practitioners. Especially in today's era of rising medical costs, "simple, easy, and effective" prescriptions are bound to be favored by both doctors and patients.
