Features: This is a segment of architectural history in the Federal Republic, showcasing contemporary architecture and offering a perspective on the architecture of the new millennium. This book compiles the new works of renowned architectural firms in the world, demonstrating the diversity of their design concepts and high visual aesthetics through these works. The architects do not blindly follow trends in the use of form and materials but once again prove that architecture, as a "shell for living and working," is a "socially practical art" (Aedes Catalogue). This issue covers their design activities from 1997 to 1999, including the Chemnitz University Auditorium, the Christian Hall for the 2000 Hannover World Expo, the Dresden Bank next to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Berlin Lerte Station and the Berlin Spandau (District) Station, the German School in Beijing, the Pimini Exhibition Center in Italy, the design of the new Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport, and the Hamburg "HafenCity" master plan. At the end, the book also includes the design of the Kiel Folding Bridge in collaboration with J?rg Schleich, as well as the interior design for the German high-speed train network.
