Features: "Design of Shenzhen Civic Center and Civic Square" is a large-scale engineering project completed by the American firm of Lee Mingyi/Tingqiu Architects in 2002. Based on the concept of the municipal hall proposed in their winning urban design scheme for the central area's core site in 1996, the project underwent multiple rounds of design and deliberation. It includes government offices, NPC offices, ceremonial and celebratory events, civic activities, assembly halls, museums, archives, and industrial exhibition halls. This project serves as both Shenzhen's future administrative center and a true civic center. The building and the adjacent civic square are the climax and focal point of the entire central axis of the area.
