Features: According to the requirements of the "Plan for Formulation and Revision of Engineering Construction Standard Norms in 1994" (Annex Nine of Document No. 240, Ji-com [1994]) issued by the State Planning Commission, the "Standard for Soil Testing Methods" was jointly revised by the Ministry of Water Resources and relevant departments. After joint review by relevant authorities, it was approved as a recommended national standard, numbered GB/T50123-1999, and implemented starting October 1, 1999, replacing the original national standard "Standard for Soil Testing Methods" GB/T123-88. During the revision process, domestic and international materials were collected, and extensive research and discussions were conducted, combined with the needs of domestic engineering development. On this basis, draft versions and draft versions for soliciting opinions were proposed, and after widespread solicitation of opinions, multiple revisions were made to submit the final draft for review. Finally, it was finalized after expert review. This standard is managed by the Ministry of Water Resources, with the Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute responsible for specific interpretation work. The Standard and Quota Research Institute of the Ministry of Construction organized China Planning Press for publication and distribution.
