Author: Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China (Editor-in-Chief)
Publisher: China Planning Press
Publication Date: 2006-05-01
Features: This specification was formulated based on the requirements of the Ministry of Construction's document No. Jianshi [2003] 102, titled "Notice on Issuing the 'Plan for the Formulation and Revision of National Engineering Construction Standards for 2002-2003'" by the Ministry of Construction. It was revised by the Fourth Railway Survey and Design Institute in conjunction with relevant units, building upon the original national standard "Design Specification for Railway Stations and Hubs" GB50091-99. The specification consists of 13 chapters, mainly including: General Provisions, Terminology, Basic Provisions for Station Design, Passing Stations, Through Stations, Intermediate Stations, District Stations, Yarding Stations, Hump Yards, Passenger Stations, Passenger Equipment and Passenger Car Maintenance Yards, Freight Stations, Freight Yards and Freight Equipment, Industrial Stations, Port Stations, Hubs, and Station Tracks.
In line with the overall requirements for the leapfrog development of railways, this specification adheres to the principles of "people-centered, transportation-oriented, strengthening the core and simplifying the periphery, systematic optimization, and forward-looking development." It emphasizes relying on technological progress, reforming transportation management systems, and reasonably determining design standards, station layouts, and scales in accordance with the requirements for adjusting production capacity distribution. This ensures that station and hub designs meet the criteria of safety, practicality, advanced technology, economic rationality, and enhances the competitiveness of railways after commissioning while maximizing the investment efficiency of construction projects. During the revision process, successful experiences and research achievements from railway design, construction, and operation since the implementation of the original specification were incorporated, and opinions were widely solicited from relevant units and experts.
