Features: This textbook is based on the national integrated cabling design standard GB/T 50311—2000. It introduces the commonly used materials in integrated cabling engineering and comprehensively elaborates on the design principles, construction methods, and testing procedures of integrated cabling systems. To help readers establish a systematic concept, typical engineering examples are provided at the end. The book is divided into thirteen chapters. The content includes the basic concepts of integrated cabling, the relationship between integrated cabling and smart buildings, the relationships among integrated cabling subsystems, their design indicators and design levels; the commonly used materials and related connecting components in integrated cabling, as well as their types and transmission characteristics; the topological structure and cabling design of horizontal (distribution) and backbone subsystems; the principles for setting up equipment rooms and distribution frames; system protection measures; building cluster cabling design; cable and patch panel marking methods; cable laying methods and installation connection hardware techniques; cable transmission link verification testing and certification testing, fiber optic transmission link testing, and integrated cabling engineering acceptance: integrated cabling application examples. The appendix lists review questions, explanations of commonly used terms, bilingual (Chinese-English) abbreviations, and commonly used graphical symbols for integrated cabling. It also includes newly recommended national standards and introductions to selected manufacturers for readers' reference. The book is written with the aim of being thorough yet accessible, rich in content, and visually engaging. It emphasizes both fundamental principles and necessary theoretical analysis while incorporating some of the latest technological developments. At the same time, it highlights practical engineering applications. This book is primarily intended as a textbook for undergraduate students in electronic information, automation, and computer application-related fields in ordinary universities. It can also serve as a reference for engineering technicians working in the fields of construction, computers, communications, and automatic control, as well as a training textbook for integrated cabling.
