Features: Inorganic Chemical Engineering Technology is a national key textbook for general higher education under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" by the Ministry of Education of China, and is the third revised edition of the original textbook. This revision aims to broaden the scope of studies, strengthen foundational knowledge, and cultivate high-quality, innovative chemical engineering talents. In terms of content, it strives to reflect the world's advanced levels, incorporating new processes, new equipment, and recent technological advancements. The third edition of this textbook is divided into three volumes: Volume 1 covers ammonia, urea, nitric acid, and ammonium nitrate; Volume 2 covers sulfuric acid, phosphate fertilizers, and potassium fertilizers; and Volume 3 covers soda ash and caustic soda. This book is the third volume. It includes two parts: soda ash and caustic soda, respectively introducing the basic principles of manufacturing soda ash and caustic soda, process calculations, main production methods, process flows, and main equipment. The soda ash section covers the ammonia-soda process, the combined ammonia-soda process, natural soda processing, and other soda production methods. The caustic soda section introduces caustic soda production methods such as the causticization process and the electrolysis process (including the diaphragm cell method, mercury cell method, and ion-exchange membrane method), as well as the production of chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, liquid chlorine, nitrogen chloride, and hydrochloric acid. This textbook serves as a selective course material for undergraduate students majoring in chemical engineering and specialty in chemical engineering in chemical engineering universities and colleges, and can also be referenced by engineering technicians and teachers in the chemical industry and other industrial sectors.
