Features: Look!(《New Century Junior English》)is an English beginner's course designed for primary and secondary school students, divided into six levels. This course is grammar-based and emphasizes the organic connection of various language skills, training students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Each level of the textbook consists of the following four parts: Student Book, Workbook, Teacher's Book, and two audio cassettes. Each level provides sufficient materials for a full academic year and can be flexibly adjusted to meet the different needs of teachers and students. For example, the workbook can be used in the classroom or assigned as homework, and additional activities are provided at the end of the workbook for different stages of the course. Each level requires 45–60 teaching hours, varying depending on the usage of the textbook. To save teachers' preparation time, the Teacher's Book includes a lesson plan that provides detailed guidance on how to teach each lesson in the Student Book. The lesson plan also includes suggestions for warm-up exercises and additional activities, the full transcript of the audio recordings, guidance on using the workbook, and complete answers to the exercises. Teachers may need supplementary materials, such as flashcards and posters, to enhance teaching effectiveness. Therefore, we recommend that instructors read these lesson plans before class. Teachers may also need to collect some props for students to use when performing dialogues. Using props will make the performance more interesting and realistic. In addition to the lesson plans, this Teacher's Book also includes a language point checklist, an activity checklist, six activities, and two sets of tests.
