Features: To meet the needs of a wide range of Japanese learners and test-takers, this series of textbooks for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) was developed based on the question types outlined by the Japan Foundation. It references multiple newly published Japanese JLPT textbooks. The series consists of 6 volumes: Analysis of Japanese Idiomatic Expressions, Classification and Analysis of Japanese Onomatopoeia and Mimetic Words, Analysis of Japanese Adverbs, Analysis of Japanese Idiomatic Phrases, Comprehensive Practice Tests for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and Handbook of Basic Japanese Grammar.
Analysis of Japanese Idiomatic Expressions summarizes and organizes approximately 600 frequently appearing, easily confused, and difficult-to-distinguish idiomatic expressions in JLPT tests. These expressions are categorized into 30 groups based on their meanings (in the form of synonymous sentence patterns). Each group of idiomatic expressions is annotated with their usage and meaning, with examples provided for each pattern. Additionally, the book distinguishes between each group of synonymous idiomatic expressions. After each group of synonymous patterns, there are quizzes for self-assessment by students. The book also includes a wealth of comprehensive exercises at the end to help students master Japanese idiomatic expressions. It is primarily intended for students preparing for the JLPT levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. Due to its reference book nature, it is also a valuable resource for college students, professional Japanese workers, and learners of Japanese.
