Features: This book is a sequel to "Japanese Conversation" (compiled by Zhu Chunyue, Nakajima Kōtai, and others, FLTRP, 1990) by the Basic Japanese Teaching and Research Section of the Japanese Department at Beijing Foreign Studies University (formerly Beijing Foreign Studies College). It was co-authored by Zhu Chunyue, an associate professor at the Japanese Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Sugihara Shigeru, a professor at Ochanomizu University in Japan. This book is designed for second-year or third-year undergraduate students of foreign language majors who have completed "Japanese Conversation." Japanese learners with some proficiency in the language can also use this book to further improve their oral communication skills or enhance their listening ability with the accompanying audio recordings. Based on the functional communicative approach as the fundamental teaching philosophy, the book includes 84 functional-notional items and over 1,800 expressions related to various communication methods. It also incorporates the 1991 edition of the "Basic Japanese for Higher Education" by the State Education Commission.
