Features: This textbook cannot fully reflect the trendy English currently popular in society, but it is designed for learners who have no prior exposure to English, especially Chinese learners. It provides easy-to-understand and vivid reading materials in a step-by-step and well-organized manner, accompanied by clear grammar explanations and simple yet repetitive exercises. This allows learners to keep up, engage, and be able to use the language effectively while enjoying the process. The book also includes several poems. Teachers should analyze the rhythm and rhyme of these poems and require students to memorize them seriously. The proverbs included in each lesson are for general recitation and are not tied to specific pronunciation training focuses. Every other lesson features pronunciation and spelling exercises, which only cover the more important pronunciation rules. For all pronunciation rules, refer to the appendix of this book. Grammar exercises are divided into regular exercises and focused exercises. The purpose of regular exercises is to train students in the basic skills of using English, including irregular verbs, punctuation, part-of-speech identification, syntactic analysis, question forms, indirect speech, articles, tenses, and more. The annotations for each lesson are mainly intended to explain the difficult and key points of grammar and vocabulary in the text, making it easier for students to preview. The exercises for each lesson include Q&A, derived words, phrase practice, sentence patterns, and oral and written assignments.
