Features: "30 Days to Conquer the CET-4" is a self-study book specifically designed for English learners of non-English majors (Public English) to quickly achieve high scores in the "National College English Test Band 4" (CET-4). The series consists of seven volumes: Vocabulary Preparation, Basic Knowledge, Listening, Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary, Cloze, Translation, and Short Answer & Writing. The main creators of the series are teachers with years of experience in CET-4 and CET-6 English teaching. They are highly experienced in preparation guidance, and their students have achieved nearly a 100% pass rate in CET-4 over the years. The series also includes contributions from some top CET-4 and CET-6 test-takers in certain chapters, providing unique insights and valuable experience for students preparing to tackle the exam. This book is the Listening volume of the "30 Days to Conquer the CET-4" series, covering the listening section of the CET-4 exam, accompanied by audio recordings for self-assessment before the exam. The listening section accounts for 20% of the total score. Before June 1997, the listening comprehension was composed of two parts: Short Conversations (Section A) and Passages (Section B). However, starting from June 1997, a new listening task called Dictation was introduced to replace the passages. The dictation section includes two forms: Spot Dictation and Compound Dictation. In past exams, the CET-4 has adopted Compound Dictation to replace passages in June 1997, January 1998, June 2001, and December 2002, among others. As one of the listening preparation books for the CET-4, this book has the following features:
1. Scientific 30-Day Breakthrough! The 30-day breakthrough in this book is scientifically and reasonably divided based on the different parts of listening comprehension in the CET-4 exam and the content of the questions. With daily practice, it helps candidates systematically and comprehensively review listening in a short period, effectively manage time, and gradually develop good listening habits and problem-solving skills.
2. Insightful Question Type Explanations and Solution Guidance! The detailed question type explanations and solution guidance provide step-by-step instruction on listening techniques, helping candidates familiarize themselves with the various question types in the listening exam and master the strategies and tips. It also includes selected from recent years as examples for analysis, helping candidates better understand the latest trends in the CET-4 and master common scenarios and question types.
3. Comprehensive Question Coverage and Thorough Explanations! The book provides a large number of exercises with fresh materials, diverse themes, and appropriate difficulty levels. Each set of questions is followed by listening transcripts, answers, and detailed explanations, making it highly practical for targeted pre-exam training. Candidates should follow the book's pace and practice daily to achieve gradual improvement.
4. Highly Humanized Service System! Based on the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve, the book offers a learning plan for readers. By strictly following the review schedule, readers can ensure learning effectiveness (see User Guide for details). At the end of the book, we have prepared a learning diary page for readers to record daily insights and key challenges. After completing the book, readers can cut out and bind the diary for convenient review.
The three authors of this book are experienced senior teachers with many years of teaching in college English. They have studied a vast amount of materials and exercises in CET-4 listening teaching, deeply understanding the characteristics of listening test questions and possessing rich experience in CET-4 coaching. We hope this book will help candidates confidently tackle all types of listening questions in the actual exam and achieve satisfactory results.
