Features: This book is divided into the following sections: Expert Reviews, Targeted Tests, Comprehensive Tests, Answers, Audio Scripts, Vocabulary List, and Common Verb Phrases. The Expert Reviews are based on the perspectives of teachers with years of experience in English foundational education, summarizing and analyzing the problems students encountered in various sections of the TEM4 exam from 1992 to 2004. Targeted suggestions and strategies are provided in response to these issues. The Targeted Tests include the items from the 2004 revised TEM4 syllabus scheduled to be implemented in 2005, in the following order: Dictation, Listening Comprehension, Cloze, Grammar and Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. The Dictation section provides ten short passages of various themes, accompanied by audio tapes. The changes in the 2004 revised TEM4 syllabus for Listening Comprehension are the most significant. Long conversations and short passages have replaced single sentences and short dialogues from previous exams. Therefore, this book carefully selects exercises specifically for long conversations and short passages. News includes VOA and BBC news from the past six months, all accompanied by audio tapes. The Cloze section provides ten passages of various themes. The Grammar and Vocabulary sections each offer 150 multiple-choice questions, covering the requirements for grammar and vocabulary as outlined in the 2000 edition of the "Teaching Syllabus for English Majors at Higher Education Institutions." The Reading Comprehension section has removed the Fast Reading component. This section provides fifty-five articles, categorized by themes such as society, science and technology, personalities, culture, education, and arts. Students can expand their background knowledge and develop their English intuition while practicing reading comprehension. For Writing, ten types of essays and fourteen types of notes are provided, along with sample notes.
