"21st Century College English" is a college English teaching material series developed according to the newly issued "College English Teaching Syllabus" by the Ministry of Education. "21st Century College English" emphasizes the fun, informativeness, thought-provoking nature, and forward-looking content of its materials, while also focusing on the normative, practical, and diverse styles of language. Most of the texts are selected from British and American periodicals and books published in the 1980s. For teaching purposes, some content has been edited. This book is the "Listening and Speaking Course", and each unit is divided into five parts.
Part 1 checks, answers, or reviews the listening, speaking, and writing exercises assigned from the previous lesson.
Part 2 uses dialog-based listening and speaking activities to train language functions and notions with the provided expressions.
Part 3 revolves around the content of text A in the "Reading and Writing Course" for retelling and discussion.
Part 4 is listening and speaking training, including dialogue exercises, story retellings, and short written passages.
Part 5 is extra-curricular exercises, mainly including dialogue recording assignments, written tasks, and listening training.
