Features: To help a wide range of candidates master scientific study methods and improve study efficiency, Peking University Yan Yuan organized senior and advanced teachers from key high schools across the country to compile this series of books for candidates preparing for the 2006 high school entrance examination. The books are designed for candidates to use during their preparation. This book strictly adheres to the requirements of the new "Examination Guidelines," taking recent high school entrance examination questions as a guide and organizing the content into thematic units, fully reflecting the concept of comprehensive preparation. To facilitate candidate use, we have made meticulous arrangements and designs in the writing process:
Analysis of High School Entrance Examination Questions: From four aspects—question type analysis, commentary on exam questions, preparation guidelines, and question prediction—we provide an in-depth analysis of recent high school entrance examination questions, summarizing the patterns and trends of question setting. Combined with a large number of typical example analyses, we broaden problem-solving perspectives, optimize problem-solving techniques and methods, and strive to help candidates truly achieve a thorough understanding and the ability to apply knowledge flexibly.
Thematic Explanations: We scientifically divide the content of each subject into several thematic units for detailed explanations. At the same time, we tightly grasp the key knowledge and abilities of each subject, striving to highlight key points and resolve difficulties, helping candidates organize and master the knowledge network of each subject. In terms of thematic arrangement, we strive to reflect the disciplinary system, closely align with the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Examination Guidelines." In terms of knowledge summarization, we stand on the thematic level while looking at the whole, emphasizing the systematic nature of knowledge. In terms of material selection, we focus on the typicality, novelty, scientificity, and practicality of problems, maximizing the relevance to high school entrance examination questions. Each thematic unit includes the following sections:
[Key Point Breakthrough]: This section scientifically organizes and refines the "key points," "key areas," and "hot topics" repeatedly covered in recent years' high school entrance examinations. The explanations are concise and clear, with unique insights.
[Analysis of Recent Exam Questions]: This section analyzes, summarizes, and synthesizes recent high school entrance examination questions related to the thematic content, helping candidates understand the characteristics and patterns of high school entrance examination question setting, optimize problem-solving techniques and methods, and help candidates enter the high school entrance examination simulation state in advance, learn examination strategies, and take the exam with ease.

[Intensive Training and Answer Key]: We have carefully designed three sets of questions: Volume A focuses on basic knowledge; Volume B focuses on ability enhancement; Volume C focuses on hot topics. Each volume is independent and targeted; when combined, they pursue an integrated effect, effectively cultivating candidates' specific disciplinary thinking and comprehensive qualities. Using a large amount of new materials, new scenarios, and new topics closely linked to social production and life, as well as social hot issues, as focal points, we improve candidates' ability to apply disciplinary knowledge through the comprehensive application of knowledge from various subjects. All intensive training questions are the crystallization of the compilers' collective wisdom, which comes from four sources: first, the summarization and conclusion of long-term teaching practice by the compilers; second, the first-class results from local teaching research conferences and experience-sharing meetings; third, excellent works from major national newspapers and magazines; and fourth, the fruits of in-depth research by experts on high school entrance examination question setting. These are precisely the main sources of high school entrance examination questions!
Social Studies and Politics Preparation Guidance: This section provides detailed explanations of current hot issues, including five sections: "Background Materials," "Subject Knowledge Points," "Example Question Analysis," "Comprehensive Training," and "Answer Key." It broadens students' horizons and helps them understand the latest political hot issues.
In the end, this book not only emphasizes the reinforcement and elevation of basic knowledge but also focuses on the cultivation and improvement of comprehensive abilities; it maintains knowledge systematization and organization while emphasizing the grasp and breakthrough of key and difficult points; it summarizes and reinforces basic methods while training and improving comprehensive problem-solving techniques.
