To help students and self-learners of English better study and use this course, we have specially compiled supplementary materials——《21st Century College English Reading and Writing Course Study Guide》. The guide is divided into five volumes, corresponding to the lessons of the original textbook. Each lesson consists of the following five parts:
Reference Translation: The entire text is translated into Chinese. The translation emphasizes accuracy while striving for fluency, readability, and ease of understanding.
Word Highlights: Key vocabulary and phrases in the text are explained in a step-by-step manner, combining context and CET (College English Test) and CET-6 exam points. This approach ensures authenticity, detail, and precision, especially in alignment with the latest CET-4 and CET-6 syllabi.
Text Annotations: Some allusions, proper names, geographical terms, and typical grammatical and rhetorical phenomena in the text are annotated in Chinese. The annotations aim to be clear, comprehensive, and focused on challenging aspects.
Solutions to Exercises: All exercises in each lesson, including oral exercises, are provided with appropriate answers and explanations. Note that the answers provided are for reference only, and students are encouraged to develop their own perspectives and insights.
Post-Lesson Tests: We have included a set of exercises for each lesson after class. These exercises focus on key points and easily confused areas, offering repeated practice and detailed analysis.
