Features: Currently, with the rapid development of educational reform in China, the teaching systems and models of primary and secondary schools across the country are shifting from "exam-oriented" to "quality-oriented." While students diligently study classroom knowledge, they are also actively participating in the rich and diverse extracurricular cultural activities on campus, promoting the comprehensive development of "moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education." To meet the needs of the vibrant campus cultural activities conducted in primary and secondary schools nationwide and to enhance the quality of these activities, this book focuses on introducing how to organize, train, and evaluate various student extracurricular interest groups. It covers widely practiced projects in campus cultural activities (such as children's choir, performance singing, small band performances, group dancing, aerobics, learning traditional opera, textbook drama rehearsals, poetry recitation, storytelling competitions, photography, stamp collecting, handicrafts, painting, as well as comprehensive artistic performances and class/team thematic cultural meetings) as the core content, providing comprehensive introductions and specialized guidance. It aims to enrich students' extracurricular lives, develop teenagers' hands-on skills, artistic performance abilities, creative thinking, and artistic qualities, offering practical assistance.
This book is composed of seven thematic chapters—Singing and Band, Dance and Aerobics, Traditional Opera and Drama, Storytelling and Recitation, Handicrafts and Painting, Photography and Stamp Collecting, and Comprehensive Artistic Performances—along with an appendix primarily featuring reference materials. The editors have strived to structure the book according to principles of standardization, systematicity, operability, and a balance between detail and brevity. The main text emphasizes practicality and guidance, while the appendix includes a variety of activity materials urgently needed by primary and secondary school teachers but difficult to obtain (such as designs for class/team cultural meeting themes, transitions, popular opera arias, and music competition questions), aiming to make the book highly informative, versatile, rich in content, and a blend of guidance, practicality, and reference.
This handbook, serving as a reference tool, was written primarily by experts from relevant fields and experienced grassroots teachers who have long been engaged in campus cultural activities. Many of the content and insights presented are based on practical experience. The text is clear and easy to understand, supplemented by numerous illustrative and engaging illustrations, as well as action or formation charts that are highly instructive. This makes it an ideal introductory guide and a valuable resource for teachers new to campus cultural activity coaching.
Due to uneven development of campus cultural activities across regions, along with differences in teaching resources and facility conditions, the popularity and focus of various extracurricular activity projects vary. Therefore, during the selection process, the book has been compiled based on practicality, adhering to the principle of "highlighting key areas while considering the whole, with a balance of detail and brevity." Content and text length are relatively more detailed for widely practiced activities in schools (such as singing, bands, traditional opera, comprehensive artistic performances, and class/team thematic meetings), while less emphasis is placed on projects with fewer participants. This is specially noted here.
At the same time, we hope that teachers using this book can apply its principles creatively, "re-creating" and "developing" further, elevating the level of campus cultural activities to a new height.
