Foreign Vocal Works Selected compiles art songs and opera excerpts composed by world-renowned composers from Handel to Rachmaninoff from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Some of these works have remained beloved by people worldwide for several centuries and hold significant value in the training of vocal techniques for opera singing. This book is suitable as supplementary teaching material for vocal studies in higher art colleges and normal universities. Teachers can select works based on students' actual abilities, adhering to the principle of gradual progression in teaching. It can also serve as performance repertoire for singing actors and vocal enthusiasts. Vocal music is a complex art. Human voices vary naturally in tone, timbre, and volume. Scientific methods categorize voice types very strictly and precisely, with further distinctions within the same vocal range, such as lyrical and dramatic styles. Therefore, a large number of vocal teaching materials in various styles and types are needed to accommodate both teaching and performance needs.
