Features: The 3rd International Conference on Chinese Science Classics was held at the University of Tübingen in Germany from March 31 to April 3, 2003. Prior to this, the series of international academic conferences had already been held for two editions. The first edition was held in Zibo City, Shandong Province, China in 1996, and the second edition took place at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany in 1998. Several institutions served as initiators for the first two editions of this series of conferences and also acted as co-organizers for the third edition. They are: the Institute of the History of Natural Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing and the Institute of the History of Science and Technology and Documentation at Tsinghua University, as well as the Center for the History of Chinese Science and Technology and Philosophy at the Technical University of Berlin.
